A Five Star Tribute to America’s Women in Military Service

Washington, D.C. (October 14, 2014) – On Veterans Day, November 11, 2014 the Women Veterans ROCK! Advocacy Campaign will stand among America’s Leading Military Women and pay tribute to America’s Women Veterans during its Veterans Day Rally at The Women in Military Service for America Memorial located at Arlington National Cemetery.

The Women Veterans ROCK! Rally was specially created to celebrate all Women Veterans, Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, Military Spouses and Military Families. This year’s historic fifth anniversary of the Women Veterans ROCK! Rally is “A Five Star Tribute to America’s Women in Military Service” as they commemorate their fifth year of a 10-year commission to research and examine the challenges, opportunities, and barriers facing America’s Women Veterans as they transition from military service back into civilian life.

women veterans rockOn Veterans Day, the Women Veterans Community will award United States Navy Veteran Cathie Lechareas with the 2015 Woman Veteran Honoree of The Year Award. This award is in recognition of six years of dedicated military service to America as well as her post-military endeavors in serving America’s Veteran Community as a leader, innovator and a catalyst for change. Lechareas is the co-founder and executive director of The Center for American Military Music Opportunities (C*A*M*M*O). C*A*M*M*O is successfully using diverse music therapy programs and applications in the rehabilitation of America’s War Heroes.

The Women Veterans ROCK! Veterans Day Rally features: Dr. Irene Trowell-Harris, Major General, (R), U.S. Air Force; Marsha T. Four, U.S. Army/Vietnam Veteran & National Vice President of Vietnam Veterans of America; Colonel Michelle Gardner-Ince, (R), U.S. Air Force & Director, VA Center for Verification and Evaluation; and City Councilwoman Mary M. Cheh, Washington, D.C. City Council (Ward 3).

This Veterans Day Celebration presents the sultry sounds of Ms. Coletta Renee, National Anthem Soloist and special performances by C*A*M*M*O “Voices of Services” Choir under the direction of Veteran Ron Henry, SONY recording artist.
