The Cheyney “C” Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to Cheyney University of Pennsylvania’s 12 varsity sports teams, the cheerleading squad, and the University band. It serves as the official athletic booster club charged with upholding the “C” Club’s legacy of enhancing school spirit, increasing attendance at sporting events, raising money for the department and building overall enthusiasm for the University.
Since 2008, the Cheyney “C” Club has raised more than $200,000 for Cheyney University’s Athletic Department. Donations to The “C” Club go directly to the Athletics Department and support student scholarships, recruitment, and upgrades to the athletic facilities.
Through contributions to the annual athletic fund, donors are enrolled as members of the Cheyney “C” Club, a status that entitles them to receive membership benefits corresponding to their donation level.
Cheyney “C” Club members are alumni, former student athletes, parents, fans and community supporters who believe that a strong intercollegiate athletic program can enhance character and University spirit, as well as increase Cheyney’s national visibility. Members have contributed steadily in support of the University since the Cheyney “C” Club was founded. This giving reflects a tremendous dedication to the success of the student athletes who wear the Blue and White.
The Goals of the Booster Club are:
- To increase interest and participation in the Cheyney University athletic program
- To help parents, coaches and students form positive relationships
- To work closely with all other school organizations in promoting athletics and school spirit
- To provide supplemental financial support for the athletic department and individual teams
