COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ANNOUNCE SUMMER SERIES IN COATESVILLE

Kick off Your Summer with Financial Stability

Coatesville, Pa – On Thursday, July 15, 2010, the Chester County Commissioners are announcing new initiatives to combat the heightened rate of foreclosed upon and vacant homes in the City of Coatesville. The “Help Yourself, Help Your Neighbor: Get Informed!” kick off event, hosted by the Minister’s Alliance of Coatesville and Vicinity, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 819 Coates Street in Coatesville.

Thanks to the funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, there are currently numerous opportunities available for financial education and counseling aid in areas regarding mortgage foreclosure prevention, employment and training, homeownership and much more. The County of Chester wants to inform the public about these opportunities that can help you improve your situation during this economic downturn.

This event will highlight community resources and financial matters, as well as celebrate a summer mini-series of informational events hosted by the churches of the Coatesville Area. All members of the community are invited to attend and learn about opportunities that may provide solutions to some of their financial needs. On-site parking is available and refreshments will be served. For more information, please visit: http://www.chesco.org/helpyourself19320.

Some topics that will be discussed are: credit counseling, foreclosure prevention, mortgage modification, homeownership and rental opportunities, energy saving options from American Water and PECO, as well as employment and training opportunities.
