The Help Yourself, Help Your Neighbor: Get Informed! event in Coatesville, Pa was a complete success! Previously mentioned in this release, the event was held at the Tabernacle Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m.
All three of the Chester County Commissioners were in attendance as well as a Daily Local newspaper reporter and over 50 members of the community joined the Chester County Department of Community Development and its nonprofit partners in kicking off this educational series for Coatesville citizens.
I was very honored to have my event coordination efforts recognized during County Commissioner Chair Aichele’s public address and was especially proud when she mentioned that I was a student at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.
Later, I was honored to be recognized again during the final address from one of the hosting pastors. She mentioned that I was responsible for creating the marketing materials and communicating between the agencies and the churches and encouraged the audience to give me a round of applause. When the applause grew thunderous, she then encouraged them to give me a standing ovation for my efforts.
To my surprise, two out of the three County Commissioners joined the attendees and my department co-workers in recognizing the work I had achieved in three months. I was quite honored.
The photo above features the three Chester County PA Commissioners (2010), members of the Minter’s Alliance of Coatesville and Vicinity, as well as employees of the Chester County Department of Community Development and myself.
